"How Much Have I Got”
How much have I got
What shall I pay
I look at my list
I'll get stockings for Aunt May
Then slippers for Aunt Eliza
Chocolates for Auntie Pem
A book for Aunt Ada
I'll get Lily a pen
A scarf for Aunt Elsie
Talcum powder for Aunt Dolly
And I'll get Aunt Irene
Some gloves or a brolly
A mother brooch for mam Mavis
A row of beads for sister Sue
A yo yo for sister Elaine
I'll get sister Vicki one too!
Two initialled hankies
"E" for Ernest my dad
It'll be one of the best Christmases
I've ever had
The year was1967
I had a packet with pay
That and my savings
We're spent for Christmas day
Everyone was happy
And they gave gifts to me
What a marvellous sight
Christmas morning under the tree
Happy Christmas everyone
With lots of love and cheer
May I wish you all
All the best for the coming year
My wage was £4-4shilling and I'd saved £1 -17 -sixpence happy days
