Early Doors
No ash trays, no bar towels No jugs on show Things change so much Where did they go?? Can you remember? When pubs were packed Beer was cheap And always on tap Men delivered barrels That weighed a ton And Shipstone’s horses Were second to none A drink for the barmaid Who opened up early doors You could hear the banter, Half a mild, what’s your's ? It was always packed In the bar or best room And closing time Always came to soon Towels on the pumps Air blue with smoke Landlord and Landlady Shout come on folks Ain't you got No home to go to? Lights are going out See you tomorrow Take care and GOODNIGHT CHEERS |
