Do you remember, Pleasure Park?
If you don't ......can I explain? A gang of us would sometimes go Through Colwick Woods to Trent Lane At first we saw the slot machines And lots of seaside sand We ran with pure excitement Our buckets and spades in hand There was swings that made you dizzy, They often made you sick One ice cream we had to share, In turn you got a lick We didn't know about abroad, Or how much money folks spent. School holidays were so much fun Beside our River Trent Oh you must remember the swing boats And the rope you pulled to swing The next best thing to holidays, Pleasure Park was everything Remember the picnics? My old friends, you “Oughter " We all took the same plus a bottle of water My memories been back, to when I was young You was there too! Didn’t we have fun ................... |
