Do you remember Victoria Baths?
How we used to splash and have fun All those wonderful Galas.....we all cheered when my Sister Sue won Uncle Alf a Boxer.....won a few rounds....He was great in the ring A lot of his friends went Thursdays.....they all did Wrestling Gedling Street Sneinton ......always easy to get to A busy place....always plenty to do Now I know the planners want modernization I see where they're coming from, but it’s another piece of our history That's going to be gone Just like the Victoria Station...... "They say” That the clock will remain. But dear old Victoria Baths.. "It will never be the same” Victoria Baths holds memories...for millions of people There will be tears.....and I'm sure there will be plenty of laughs But things will never be the same.... When they change THE VICTORIA BATHS “I ent gor any bathers that fit ,ev yo gor a safety pin, I'll gi it ya back ....don't laugh ev yo seen Sid, he's gor his brothers trunks on” ....oh happy days |
