POLICEMAN
Oh do you remember years ago A Policeman's lot was never slow' He'd stand on point duty outside Milton's head Seven lanes of traffic not moving till he said His silver shining buttons, his polished leather boots He stood out in the crowd among the traffic hoots Gracing our city, keeping us safe someone to look up to ...keeping our faith Our Policeman with his white gloves in hand Often clipped a lad’s ear so he'd understand And when it was night the uniform changed Rubber soles, kid gloves, covered button's, all re-arranged A Policemans coming and the kids would run There wasn't vandals it was all harmless fun In that much envied helmet he'd walk on his beat Up and down... almost every street He helped us, we helped him We'd always ask the time This man in uniform....".Someone's Da " It could be yours or mine Where would we be without our Policemen Their work is never done If we went back to a few old ways......would it help our young? So take care young ones, don't go astray. The Policeman's there to help you - crime doesn't pay |
