December 2011 Tony the Founder of this site All over the world .St Ann’s folk viewed day & night . All the photos were brilliant of neighbours and places Memories brought back seeing all their faces. There was Shops.Schools .Clubs .plenty of Pubs Cinemas.Dance Halls Cafes .Clubs for Brownies & Guides . Bikes scooters remember our Trolley buses for rides . Slipper baths.Swimming baths .Allotments & Parks Back yards ,entries we always played out till dark . Schools .Churches ,parties & outings more than (a few ) Police Station .Phone box .Those memories of waiting in the Queue . Easter .Whitsun .Bank holidays in pub back yards Crisps bottle s of pop .Sunday dinners dads played cards . Street gangs Bonfires .we collected for weeks Piled high there was two or three fires on every street . So can you imagine TONY the laughter & amount of fun This wonderful site as given us it’s been second to none . MAVIS joining you .What a talent with all the files So much work and loyalty she gives each day across the miles . And in Photos and books PETER Richardson added to the piles So TONY you see how many people joined ,because of your son You can do it dad Blimey we are so glad There’s been July Gatherings with your helpers eleven till three Raffle. Music. photos .Map. Auction. name stickers .Food & Bar All these years Friends and Neighbours came from near and far !! So A Big Thank You TONY & MAVIS .I’ll continue to love this site You put me on the files of poems .That would have never seen the light . You’ve bought joy to so many .All the hard work we understand Spending so many hours drawing up the plans I’m glad like all the Followers . To have been a part of …….. St Ann’s …………….Well Road Pre .Demolition (1970) Online Community. Your son was right Tony it became a mission ! So HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL Join the new site so we can still recall . St Ann’s Well Road Pre Demolition (1970) I couldn't believe what I saw---------Places I’d forgotten came to life once more The Parks, Police Station, Trotts, Ayres, Ted Bullocks, Flo Woods, all the laughs Central Market, Cavo and Empress, more shops, and Slipper Baths BLIMEY, they've all had a mention Like the Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Scouts All these lovely memories, we keep on bringing them out Mr Salt, Mrs Hayes -----if they saw this site they would be amazed OH...The houses have gone, the Schools have gone and the Churches where we prayed Sycamore and Coppice Rec, Remember how we played? Scrumping up the Allotments, swigging water from a tap Goose Fair, Bonfire Night?? collecting rubbish, remember that!! We didn't have loads of money, it don’t buy Happiness they say We had manners, caring, and kindness, Drilled into us day after day Friends and Neighbours, Our Community spirit, money couldn't buy St Ann’s Well Road will always live on This Site won’t let it die So THANKS for all the memories, there seems to be plenty We were All so blessed to have lived, or live in dear old SENTY!!
