The facebook site is about celebrating:
what we had
where we grew up
the people and places that were part of our lives
It is a lasting testament to growing up in and around St Ann's Well Road, with its photographs, historical documents, maps and most importantly, numerous personal memories of living in
the St Ann's Well Road area before the demolition.

About the Facebook group and website:
Timeline:
31st December 2011
Tony Miller, with three friends and one photograph founded Our St Ann’s Well Road Pre Demolition (1970) Online Community facebook site. Soon seven people - all ex St Ann's Well Road who were born about the same time and who lived mostly in the same area prior to the 1970 demolition - were active on the site. Similar childhood memories, including schools, churches, and youth organisations were shared. It is these memories to which the site is devoted: Tony’s personal memories, our personal memories, our parents' memories and the history of St Ann's Well Road prior to the demolition.
The ethos of the site was soon readily embraced by many new members. Within the first year the site had grown to 136 members from all parts of the world.
July 2013
The first meeting/gathering was held at Stonebridge Farm, Nottingham.
March 2014
The site, now with over 700 members, continued to thrive. Its pictures, documents and memories of the old St Ann's Well Road area being added to daily and are being stored for posterity on the World Wide Web.
May 2014 - The second meeting/gathering was being planned.
Please continue to share your memories of living in the St Ann's Well Road area prior to 1970 with photos of the time, documents and photographs, including photographs of Nottingham and it's wonderful buildings....taken prior to the demolition 1970 and as far back as you want to go.

About the Facebook group and website:
- Members share photographs, documents, historical information and poems, along with personal memories of growing up in the St. Ann's Well Rd area prior to the demolition in 1970. Images of the City of Nottingham (pre 1970) are also welcome - that's where we perhaps went to work, where we shopped and where we socialized.
- All stories/comments, photographs, etc should be relevant to the period prior to 1970 so that we can all see how the area we knew developed and evolved from an historical point of view. (Images of the demolition stage with boarded up, part demolished streets are discouraged – these can be seen on the Picture the Past website if members wish to look at them). If we start uploading post 1970’s images (of which there are potentially hundreds,) our site could get swamped with them – far better to track down those rare snaps in black and white either online or in the family archives!
- The memories, photos and documents should thus reflect the area when it was a dynamic thriving community, (shops, schools , churches, the people, buildings and unique characters which made it what it was) - and how we used to live and work in the area.
- This site is none political, none racist, none sexist; no offensive language and no advertising.
